| Android One 5.1 may be the next major update to Android Lollipop. |
Google Android One 5.1
Google's website for Android One, the platform designed to bring a cohesive Android experience to developing markets, today revealed the existence of Android 5.1, a new version of the Android smartphone platform. Android One phones was initially roll out in India, Nepal, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka and other South Asian countries in 2014.
Lots of new features include restoration of true silent mode (which was missing in initial Android Lollipop 5.0 update) and improved Battery and RAM Management is the part of the Google Android One platform including Updated Material Design icons. Most of the changes have already been updated in Android Lollipop 5.0.2. However, Google didn’t revealed what other changes have been incorporated in the Android One 5.1. According to Android Police the Android One has already been rolled out in Indonesia. It’s not yet clear that when the this update will be available to other Android devices including Google`s own Nexus line of Phones, Phablets and Tablets.
Android One is a standard created by Google for Android systems, mainly targeted at people buying their first smartphone, and customers in the developing world. The first Android One smartphones were by the Indian brands Micromax, Spice and Karbonn in September 2014, and other manufacturers are going to follow gradually.
