A 22-story-tall Falcon 9 rocket will lift off out of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida a couple of minutes after sunset, at 6:10 pm ET. And within a half hour or so after take off, the rocket will return from space and attempt to guide its way, using GPS tracking, onto a droneship in the Atlantic. If Successful, than it would be a biggest achievement of human history in space exploration and travelling since Apollo Moon launch.
SpaceX will launch a Falcon 9 Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida carrying the DSCOVR Earth observation and space weather satellite for NOAA. If the launch is aborted, SpaceX has also prepared a backup launch opportunity for 6:07 pm on Monday Feb. 9.
New Horizon of Space Travel
SpaceX is an American space transport services company headquartered in Hawthorne, California, USA. It was founded in 2002 by former PayPal entrepreneur and Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk with the goal of reducing space transportation costs to enable the colonization of Mars. SpaceX is planning its first crewed Dragon/Falcon 9 flight in 2016, when it expects to have a fully certified, human-rated launch escape system incorporated into the spacecraft.
Besides NASA contracts, SpaceX has signed contracts with private sector companies, non-American government agencies and the American military for its launch services, filling a growing launch manifest. As of January 2015, it has already launched 13 Falcon 9 rockets and has at least 30 planned future launches for clients.
