Wallmart is raising Workers minimum Wage to $9 per Hour

Walmart has raised its workers wage to minimum $9 more the Federal Minimum Wage. on Thursday morning, as the Bentonville, Ark.-based retail giant has announced that Walmart will pay $9 per hour to 500,000 of its low-wage workers — about 40% of its 1.3 million-strong U.S. workforce –  given a pay boost well above the federal minimum wage and all the current employees will get at least $10 an hour by February 1, next next year;

" Approximately 500,000 full-time and part-time associates at Walmart U.S. stores and Sam’s Clubs will receive pay raises in the first half of the current fiscal year. Current and future associates will benefit from this initiative, which ensures that Walmart hourly associates earn at least $1.75 above today’s federal minimum wage, or $9.00 per hour, in April. The following year, by Feb. 1, 2016, current associates will earn at least $10.00 per hour. "

United States largest private sector employer said 500,000 full-time and part-time associates at Walmart (WMT) U.S. stores and Sam's Clubs will receive pay raises in April that will take them to at least $9 an hour, which will be $1.75 an hour above the current federal minimum wage. 

Walmart will also invest in training, hiring, scheduling, and store management,The wage scale and other improvement in work conditions will cost the company about $1 billion in this fiscal year. 

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon said in his statement that the retailer aims to give its employees “more control over their schedules.”The company said workers will also have more control over their schedules but declined to give details of those changes. And it said it would invest more in training to give entry-level workers greater chance for promotion and other career advancement.
